There are very heavy structural beams embedded inside the wall to hold up such a massive structure. As you can see by the size of the man in the picture, this structure is huge and is cantilevered with decorative support brackets. 
Here is the poolside Canopy which will also take IPE and aluminum. These are over 12 feet tall.
